Description
Ivy Bank is a Victorian house built in the l890's from local slate and provides comfortable accommodation in a family home. Many of its original features have been retained, such as the elegant pitch pine staircase, exposed beams and ornate cornices. It is situated away from main thoroughfares yet is within a few minutes walk of the railway station and village centre, restaurants, shops and pubs.
Windermere is ideally located as a centre for either touring the enchanting scenery of the Lake District or for a brief stay to give a taste of the area whilst touring Britain. It is approximately 25 minutes drive from Junction 36 of the M6 Motorway and has an excellent branch-line connection from the West Coast main rail line.
A number of picturesque walks can be followed from Ivy Bank, including the spectacular view from Orrest Head - considered to be one of the most perfect viewpoints that the Lake District can offer. Other walks will take you to School Knott, Brant Fell, Biskey Howe and Millerground Falls, all approximately 30 minutes from our door. For a more leisurely view of the surrounding fells wander down to the Lake and take a cruise on one of the traditional lake steamers.
While staying at Ivy Bank guests are able to take advantage of our membership of a local leisure club. This includes free use of most of the facilities, including swimming pool, sauna, steam room, spa bath, gymnasium, badminton and snooker.
Ivy Bank is completely non-smoking and is centrally heated throughout offering a choice of double, twin or family rooms. All our bedrooms are en-suite and are provided with colour TV, hair dryer, alarm clock/radio, tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities and a range of toiletries. In addition, 2 of our larger rooms have a sofa and DVD player. In our cosy residents lounge you can browse through our collection of books, magazines and tourist information. We have a car park at the rear of the property and there are no parking restrictions on Holly Road.
Sue is a qualified Sports and Remedial Masseuse and Aromatherapist and can offer these treatments in the afternoons and evenings. Each client is given a full consultation and specially selected oils are chosen to suit. Advance booking is advisable to avoid disappointment. Prices are as follows; 90 minute Aromatherapy Treatment (including consultation) - £35. Sports and Remedial Massage - £30 per hour.

We have comfortable beds, spotless en-suites, attractive décor, a superb choice for breakfast and a relaxed atmosphere. Aromatherapy and remedial massage available.
