Description
LOCH NESS ENGLISH is a small English school in the village of Fort Augustus in the Highlands of Scotland and is located next to Loch Ness, the home of the famous ‘monster’. The school is in a beautiful location, surrounded by mountains, forests, rivers etc, and is just a few hundred yards from Loch Ness.
GETTING HERE
Despite the rural location it is only 45 minutes from the city of Inverness, which has excellent communications links including an airport. From here it is easy to travel to London and other parts of the UK and Europe. It is no more difficult to travel here than to go to any UK school located away from London.
TEACHING
Teaching is of a high quality and all teachers are properly qualified, with the RSA CELTA as a minimum, plus further educational qualifications (e.g. PGCE / Dip TEFL) as well. We offer a variety of general or more specialized English courses according to our customers’ needs.
CLASSES
We are a small school with small classes. We specialize in small groups and one-to-one lessons within the school building although we can cater for larger groups using alternative locations within the village.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES
In addition to English courses we offer schedule of optional tours and activities, and there is plenty to do here after class - visiting castles, hiking, white water rafting, horse riding, sailing, cruising the loch, whisky distilleries, bird-watching, orienteering, visiting movie locations (many movies were made near here e.g. Harry Potter / Braveheart / Rob Roy...), and even monster watching.
ACCOMMODATION
We can also arrange local accommodation in a variety of price brackets. Because the village is small there is very little host family accommodation so most students stay in one of the many local B&B guest houses, which are friendly and have a family feeling. There are also several good hotels and also two backpacker hostels.

Started in 2002, Loch Ness English is a small, friendly English school in Fort Augustus near Loch Ness. It is surrounded by beautiful highland scenery - mountains, forests, and of course Loch Ness. We offer professional tuition for students of all nationalities in private or small group classes. General or specialized courses and exam preparation available.
